Dear valued patients,
We regret to inform you that as of April 1, 2023 our office will no longer be contracted with Medicaid insurance, including Medicaid (Provider One), Molina, CHPW, Amerigroup, Coordinated Care, and UHC Community.
This is such a difficult decision brought about by very low reimbursement for our care as nurse practitioners. In a perfect world, medical professionals would not have to consider which insurance a patient has, as our core value is to care for all people. Many larger entities and community health clinics receive grants or extra funding to provide care regardless of the payor.
Mt. Shuksan Family Medicine & Dermatology has remained one of the few small clinics that has continued to take these insurance carriers as a commitment to the community, but we too feel the pressures to keep our doors open and our lights on. We get paid such a low rate that we are essentially paying to see patients with these insurance plans. Simply put, it is not sustainable to stay in business with how we are getting paid.
If you would like to transfer your care to another clinic accepting your insurance, please email our clinic with this request or have your new provider request a transfer of records if needed.
Sincerely,
Mt. Shuksan Family Medicine & Dermatology
